Effective January 13, 2026, coinciding with our Early Access launch, Hypixel Studios established a community-first framework for creators. This document outlines your rights, responsibilities, and the tools available to you.
Mod Ownership & Licensing
Hypixel Studios supports an open ecosystem while protecting the core game experience.
- Ownership: You own the original creative work in your Mods (original scripts, unique 3D models, textures, and soundscapes).
- Licensing: By sharing your content within the Hytale ecosystem, you grant Hypixel Studios a license to host and distribute your work to ensure players can access it across all supported platforms.
- Tools: Use the integrated in-game modding suite for real-time asset editing and live-scripting without restarting the game.
The Hytale Creator Program
Launched in January 2026, this program provides direct financial support for content creators.
- Creator Codes: Approved members receive a unique code. When players use this code during checkout for the game or cosmetics, the creator earns a 5% commission (scaling to 7% in the future).
- Access: Program members receive early access to development builds and direct lines of communication with the Hypixel development team.
Monetization & Servers
We believe creators should be rewarded for their hard work.
- The Two-Year Rule: For the first 24 months of Early Access, Hypixel Studios will take 0% commission from third-party server or mod monetization.
- Future Policy: After the initial period, a maximum cap of 20% may be introduced to support platform maintenance.
- In-Game Transactions: All gameplay-affecting purchases must be clearly disclosed and must not violate our competitive integrity standards.
Professional Standards
To maintain a safe environment, all creators must adhere to the following:
- No NFTs or Crypto: The integration of non-fungible tokens or speculative blockchain schemes is strictly prohibited.
- Original Assets: You may not distribute or sell modified original game files or source code.
- Transparency: Content must be clearly marked as "Not an official Hypixel Studios product."
- Safety: Servers must implement automated moderation tools and adhere to the 24-hour response SLA for safety reports.
